Tball

 

For boys and girls ages 4 and 5.

Players must be 4 before July 1.  Players who turn 6 prior to May 1 of the current season are not eligible for Tball and must play in Sixers.

 

COACHING:
This division does not have a limit on the coaches.  Volunteers are always helpful at this age.

 

BAT RULES:
All bats must be no longer than 26″ and must be 2 5/8″ diameter or smaller.  Wood, aluminum, graphite, or fiberglass bats are allowed.

 

PLAYING:

  • Ball size: 9″ Safety Ball
  • Pitching distance: Tee ONLY
  • Base distance: 50′
  • Cleats should be non metal only and are not required.
  • Game limit is 1 hour 15 minutes.  Game length is at the discretion of the coaches but must be agreed upon by both teams prior to declaring calling a game sooner.
  • No strikes or outs will be called.  Batters may swing until a hit is made.
  • No scoring will be kept.
  • Batters should advance a maximum of 2 bases on one hit, except for the final batter of the inning, which may round the bases to complete the inning.
  • Batters are not required to wear batting helmets but they are allowed.  Close attention should be paid to players with bats in the dugout and on deck.
  • On deck batters shall remain within the dugout area and will not be permitted to stand in a traditional on deck circle.
  • Any player playing the pitcher position must be in the pitching circle when the ball is hit.
  • No player will be allowed behind the plate in the catcher position.  This is for the safety of bats being thrown by the batter near unprotected players.  A coach should be behind the plate and will assist the batter with placing the ball on the tee.
Sixers

  • Outs will be called and the runners will return to the dugout, but there are an unlimited amount of outs per half inning to ensure the batting order bats through.
  • No scoring will be kept.
